A New Project

Monday, September 12th, 2016

I’m starting a new comic project for the first time in 5 years. I’ve got a script, a publisher waiting, and 24 pages of “paper” ruled and waiting.

A blank sheet of paper is both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.

The Hillbilly Hepcats

Wednesday, September 7th, 2016

I’ve been a little quiet about art and comics over the past two years. I have been drawing, though it’s mainly been storyboarding for Littlest Pet Shop, 3 Amigonauts, Camp Lake Bottom and other TV cartoons.

Where I’ve been putting my attention in my spare time has been in music. Visit my music page to see more details.

At the beginning of 2014 I joined a band called the Lonesome Devils. Two years and about 100 plus gigs later, the band folded. From the ashes grew a tight little rockabilly trio called the Hillbilly Hepcats

HH@theRooster

The Hillbilly Hepcats are an Ottawa based trio playing an energetic blend of burning hot  Rockabilly, Roots and 50’s Rock and Roll.

Members: Craig – lead guitar, vocals /  Rob – standup bass / Andre – drums

We gig regularly around the Ottawa and outlying area, and we maintain a weekly house gig at Fatboys Southern Smokehouse every Thursday night from 8-10:30 pm. No cover and the Ribs are all you can eat.

If you are in Ottawa and want to come dancing (or just watch) come on down.

Life Drawing @ The Rooster

Wednesday, September 7th, 2016

The last time I attended Life Drawing was a multi-week session at the Ottawa School Of Art. I had just started working for WaRP Graphics inking ElfQuest: The Hidden Years (I’ll let somebody else do the math!) and I had to drop out of the session because of time crunch and deadlines.

I’ve been wanting to do it ever since, but could never commit to a long multi-week session.

I finally found a couple of monthly drop in sessions and finally made it to one last night. It was a clothed model session at The Atomic Rooster.  I haven’t used a pencil (or any non-digital art tool) outside of scribbling stick figure layouts in the margins of a script in about 8 years. I felt like a monkey with a burnt stick.

Frustrations aside, I’m looking forward to the next one.
