I Give Up
Friday, November 9th, 2007I’m going to run this site using the default them for a little while to see if I get the same errors.
Double Sigh… so much for creative freedom.

I’m going to run this site using the default them for a little while to see if I get the same errors.
Double Sigh… so much for creative freedom.
This time I’m testing to see if the date and time stamp is working correctly.
I’m still getting tons of PHP Access Violation errors on this server. The server is telling me it’s probably my theme and not their server that’s at fault. I’m a little sceptical. This server is runnin a wndows 2003 server and I mainly signed up because they are cheap and, at the time I wasn’t running any databases for the two domains on this server. TooHipGottaGoGraphics.com is running on a different, Apache, server, mainly because at the time I started it I wanted to run a shopping cart and a message board. So, I’m running this theme over there at http://www.toohipgottagographics.com/WordPress for a few weeks to see if I get the same access errors on an Apache server. If not, and the errors continue over here, it will be time to find a new server for this website.
Sigh….
I’ve been getting a lot of PHP access errors when trying to log in and navigate this site. Requesting support from my server got me a list of error logs which I have no clue how to navigate. Not very helpful.
So, in an effort to make sure it wasn’t my code causing the problems, I decided to try to start from scratch with a WordPress approved theme. I monkeyed with the font sizes, spacing, and colour, etc. to try and duplicate the look of the site. I swapped out the images for my own, and I created the top menu with instructions from the WordPress site, instead of just cutting and pasting an HTML table into the top of the header. About the only things that aren’t out of the box are the image in the sidebar, and the images in place of text in the horizontal menu. I think this time around, there should be no problems with the code.
I’m going to leave things as is for a few weeks and see if things have stabilized. Please let me know if you are getting the same ACCESS VIOLATION errors when trying to visit the site.
If you’ve been by the site more than once today, you may have noticed the WordPress themes changing, and a slow evolution of the design of the site. I’m going to be moving the links that were on the left up to the top as I slowly recreate all of that content using WordPress. I’ll probably still have a few static html pages up, but I’m going to try to get as much of it upgraded to Web 2.0 as I can.
Thanks for your patience.
I started work on a short story a few weeks back. I’m doing tight pencils so I can send it out as samples to various editors in the hopes of getting some freelance work. But I’m also doing it as a fun break in the midst of doing a 220+ page graphics novel (Wahoo Morris). Sometimes you just need to complete something short and fun to keep from drowning.
I’ve pencilled the whole story, and I’m slowly tightening them up in my spare time. Here’s the fourth page for your enjoyment. Goofy Sci-Fi fun!
