Baltimore Comic Con and The Harvey Awards!

Thursday, September 6th, 2007

I made a last minute decision to attend the Baltimore Comic Con. What tipped the balance for me was the desire to attend the Harvey Awards, as I’m up for an award for my work on The Chelation Kid.

I’ll be flying to Baltimore early Saturday morning and should be at the con by noon and will be there all day Sunday as well. I will be hanging out at the Insight Studios booth, so if you are attending the show, stop by and say hello. I’ll have some original art on hand, and will be doing the odd commission sketch.

New York Comic Con

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I received a phone call from the events co-ordinator of the New York Comic Con informing me my application for an Artist Alley table had been accepted. I had pretty much assumed I wouldn’t get a table as the show has been reportedly sold-out for months. So, it looks like I will be attending the show after all.

I turned down joining my friends last year because I was a little wary of the weather in February. But, my friends had a great time and highly recommended the show. So, in a few months I’ll get to see for myself what all the fuss is about.

EXPOZINE!

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I will be driving to Montreal on Saturday November 25 to attend the 5th annual Expozine. I don’t know much about the show but it was recommended to an exhibitor at a local Ottawa small press book fair. The Expozine describes itself this way:

“This incredible event brings together over 200 creators of all kinds of printed matter in both English and French. In the past five years, Expozine has grown to become one of North America’s largest small press fairs, attracting thousands of visitors as well as exhibitors from as far afield as Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec City! It is one of the city’s cultural success stories, and this year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet!”

Seems worth checking out as it is so close a drive for me. As always I will have a cross section of the Too Hip Gotta Go Graphics catalog as well as the new WAHOO MORRIS TP for sale.

SPX: The Small Press Expo

Wednesday, September 6th, 2006

I will be setting up and displaying at the Small Press Expo in Bethesda, Maryland, on the 13th and 14th of October.

It’s been a few years since I’ve attended SPX, and I’ve heard it’s grown quite a bit, but I enjoyed my first time and I’m looking forward to the show this year. I will have copies of the new Wahoo Morris TPB for sale, as well as original art from the series, and a few other goodies on hand.

Please do stop by and say hello if you are at the show.
