… is not something I’m good at. If I have to work on more than one project at a time I’m more likely to get nothing done on any of them than be productive on multiple projects at once.

And right now I’m neck deep in three, count ’em three, separate projects at once. I’ve been doing 5 daily strips of THE CHELATION KID a week, as well as working on CLEOPATRA for Moonstone Books, and trying to maintain a weekly update schedule on WAHOO MORRIS so I hit my projected publishing date of May for WAHOO MORRIS Book Two.

If you’ve been paying attention you will notice I’ve kind of fallen off the wagon the last two weeks or so. The final details of getting WAHOO MORRIS Book One to stores and then preparing for and attending SPX threw a bit of a monkey wrench in the whole proceedings. I haven’t fallen behind on The Chelation Kid, but Wahoo Morris fell by the wayside first, then Cleopatra.

This week things are back to normal and I have resumed the schedule I was maintaining through most of September. Basically I get up in the morning and draw and ink an episode of The Chelation Kid. In the afternoon I work on Cleopatra, sometimes managing to pencil a whole page. In the evening (if I choose to have no life and work) I alternately work on Wahoo Morris or pick away at finishing tag ends on Cleo or the Chelation Kid.

It’s not the best way of getting a project done in a speedy manner, but it is keeping all three projects moving, albeit slowly. I’m hoping Cleopatra will be wrapped up by the end of November so I will only have two projects on my plate for a little while until I have to take another paying job to keep the wolves from the door.

Once The Chelation Kid wraps up (when we are not sure yet) I’ll just be working on one project at a time for a while. The idea of working on one project all day long from start to finish seems rather heavenly at the moment…

New York Comic Con

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I received a phone call from the events co-ordinator of the New York Comic Con informing me my application for an Artist Alley table had been accepted. I had pretty much assumed I wouldn’t get a table as the show has been reportedly sold-out for months. So, it looks like I will be attending the show after all.

I turned down joining my friends last year because I was a little wary of the weather in February. But, my friends had a great time and highly recommended the show. So, in a few months I’ll get to see for myself what all the fuss is about.

I will be driving to Montreal on Saturday November 25 to attend the 5th annual Expozine. I don’t know much about the show but it was recommended to an exhibitor at a local Ottawa small press book fair. The Expozine describes itself this way:

“This incredible event brings together over 200 creators of all kinds of printed matter in both English and French. In the past five years, Expozine has grown to become one of North America’s largest small press fairs, attracting thousands of visitors as well as exhibitors from as far afield as Chicago, Toronto, Ottawa, and Quebec City! It is one of the city’s cultural success stories, and this year’s edition promises to be the biggest yet!”

Seems worth checking out as it is so close a drive for me. As always I will have a cross section of the Too Hip Gotta Go Graphics catalog as well as the new WAHOO MORRIS TP for sale.

The first WAHOO MORRIS Trade paperback goes on sale today at finer comic stores. If you can’t find one at your local shop, you can have them order you one with the Diamond Order code AUG063612. Or you can try to get a regular bookstore to order it with it’s ISBN #: ISBN 0-9735161-1-9
…though I don’t have a bookstore distributor yet, so I’m not sure how succsesful that will be.

OR, you can order on from me directly on-line. I have them available for purchase with a credit card at TOO HIP GOTTA GO GRAPHICS for $9.99 and free shipping until December 24.

Books back from the printer!

Wednesday, October 4th, 2006

I got my advance copies of WAHOO MORRIS Book 1 from the printer today, and I must say they look as good as I’d hoped they would. I was a little worried that the lettering would be a little too small, but it all looks good.

In a few days I should be getting the bulk of the books (about 25-35 boxes) from the printer. I’ll be using comic boxes as furniture for awhile!

As soon as the book hits store shelves, I’ll be putting it up for sale on the Too Hip Gotta Go Graphics website store.
